Our team is made up of professional MCs who have worked at hundreds of weddings across Australia. They are experienced in all types of events including birthdays, engagements parties and corporate functions as well as weddings!

We also have an extensive range of DJ’s that will ensure you get exactly what you want on your big day. With our state-of-the-art sound system, you can be sure that every guest will hear everything perfectly no matter where they are standing or dancing!

The man behind the music
Michael King

Michael King, principal of Weddings Parties Entertainment is a multi award winning Event DJ with 30 years of radio and mobile DJ experience. Working with some of Australia’s most respected and well known companies, he has seen it all, performing at 1000’s of functions. 
 
Michael believes “Excellence is an attitude”. With Weddings Parties Entertainment this simply means we give you the best service, music and experience. Don’t be fooled by others that hide behind their lights, size of their speakers, or don’t have the experience to provide a truly professional service. We provide the highest quality sound, lighting, Event DJ’s & MC’s who know how to make you and your guests dance like you have never danced before.
 

Michael shot to prominence in the late 80s as a young, talented and ambitious radio personality, hosting the flagship Top 40 Countdown show in regional NSW. He was soon the Blue Light Disco DJ all the kids wanted! Michael so impressed his audience – and radio management – that he was soon hosting the station’s Friday Saturday night request shows too. Often these programs would broadcast from private parties, Michael thrived in this live, party atmosphere.

In ’89 Mike relocated to Adelaide, joining Triple M where he co-hosted “the afternoon show” with Michael Tunn (later of Triple J fame). Then in ’91 Mike moved to “Coast FM” – rebranding the drive program on Tuesdays with his own team of talent and co-hosting Wednesday drive. Meanwhile, Michael’s enduring passion for mobile entertainment saw him continue to hone his event DJ and MC skills joining (at the time) Adelaide’s most successful Entertainment franchise company “Elite Entertainment Australia” – where Michael quickly became one of their lead DJ performers. In 93′ Michael’s career at coast culminated in the creation of the new “The Nightclub” format for the radio station’s Friday nights –  bringing a whole new level of production sophistication, not previously seen in Adelaide radio before.
Almost a victim of his own success, at this point Michael had to choose between his two passions – radio and mobile. He chose Mobile, leaving “the Nightclub” program to continue working with Elite Entertainment on Friday’s and Saturday’s. Whilst engaged for almost 7 years with Elite, Michael regularly performed at some of the largest wedding receptions, with crowds of around 500 people – performing at many 5 Star reception centres including the Stanford’s, Rydges, And Hyatt’s.
In 2000, pursuing a business opportunity saw Mike move to the big city lights of Melbourne, where returning to radio he quickly became a mainstay of the breakfast shift on the youth-oriented dance music station KIX FM. Whilst working at KIX, Michael – aka  “Deejay MickeyK with the special K” was a massive collaborator for KIX-FEST, one of Melbourne’s largest and most successful dance festivals with the likes of Shaggy, Tina Cousins and Sash! All performing live!!
Following the heady days of KIX FM, Mike indulged his love of ’80s and 90s music with a stint at radio Double X – then Melbourne’s home of classic retro.

For the last decade, operating as “Deejay Mickeyk”  – Michael’s experience in Melbourne has also seen him achieve exemplary levels along with some of Melbourne great entertainers. Michael has entertained thousands of people at thousands of functions in multiple states across Australia. Michael is a powerful performer and stands on his reputation to deliver the night of your dreams!

Founder of Weddings Parties Entertainment

Michael is the Managing Director of Weddings Parties Entertainment. Michael is a multi award winning Event director, MC & DJ. He has performed live at over 2,000 events, and been a prominent figure in the Australian Radio Scene since the late 1980’s.  Michael shot to prominence as a young, talented and ambitious radio personality, hosting the flagship Top 40 Countdown show in regional NSW.
